Hello. Thank you for visiting my Justgiving page.
24th April
2days to go and I've exceeded my target which is absolutely fantastic!! Another big THANK YOU to everybody who has donated - no matter how much - I literally couldn't have done it without you!!
As a result I'm on a real high going into the race - which will only help me avoid this wall everyone keeps talking about - and its also made all the gruelling training feel worthwhile.
I'm really looking forward to the day, and needless to say I'm particuarly looking forward to the beer afterwards
So thanks again both from me, and also on behalf of DeafnessResearchUK
Tom
24th March:
First of all THANK YOU to everyone who has donated! Your generosity is much appreciated and has personally helped me through some recent low moments. Including midway through an 18mile (3hour!) run finding myself running in sleet in a derelict industrial estate in North Manchester closely followed by a strong feeling I might have hit the infamous "wall"
Just over a month to go and, if I'm honest, I can't wait for the training to be over. Motivation is low, my knees are creaking and I'm dreading my last long run (20miles) in 10days.
But I'm looking forward to the big day - hoping my body will hold up and I can hit my fundraising target......................with your help of course! So if payday happens to be anytime soon and you can spare some cash for a worthy cause, then you'll be a certainty for my exclusive 2009 Christmas card list!
Thanks again
Tom

Yes, believe it or not, I am running the Flora London Marathon on 26th April 2009.
I will be raising money for a very worthy cause, Deafness Research UK. You may not know that one in seven of the UK population has a hearing disability; about one in every 850 children is born with significant sensorineural (such as, problems of the inner ear) deafness; and unfortunately deafness affects half of all people over 60 years old, making it the second most common cause of disability in older people.
Deafness Research UK is the country's only charity dedicated to finding new cures, treatments and technologies for the deaf, hard of hearing and other hearing impaired people including tinnitus sufferers.
Deafness blights the lives of so many people and money is urgently needed for basic research and to empower people by providing information on the best treatment choices currently available. I ask you to please support the fantastic work they do at Deafness Research UK, and at the same time give me no excuse to stop the extremely painful training, by generously sponsoring me as much as you can.
Go on! Sponsor me NOW!!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Deafness Research UK gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So please sponsor me now!
