British Skin Foundation - London - Paris Bike Ride · 22 May 2008

The British Skin Foundation is the only charity in the UK dedicated to funding research into skin disease and skin cancer. We fund groundbreaking studies that uncover the causes of skin disease and drive new treatments. We believe in healthy skin for everyone.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I will be taking part in a 4 day bike ride from London to Paris in September 2008 to raise money for the British Skin Foundation. This is a worthy charity that supports research projects specialising in a range of skin diseases including: melanoma, acne, eczema, psoriasis and the laser treatment of birth marks in children.

Most of you will know that I specialise in dermatology, both at the local Market Harborough Cottage Hospital and the Market Harborough Medical Centre taking referrals from local GPs and supporting my colleagues at the medical centre.  The most well known and feared skin problem is malignant melanoma and the fear of it drives us all.  Only through better awareness and developing better treatments through research can we improve survival.  So if I can cycle 300 miles surely you can dig deep and sponsor the British Skin Foundation.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Skin Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
