Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon · 12 October 2008 ·

The UK's largest network of students taking action on human rights, global poverty and the environment. Young people from all over the country are campaigning against climate change and corporate power.

Story

Hullo!

Please do generously support the development of the muscles on the other side of my legs, this poor cyclist is in danger of looking a bit lopsided.

I'm going to run the Royal Parks half marathon - hooray!

You might also want to support People & Planet, the most effective and empowering campaigning organisation in the UK. P&P is a network of uni/school groups who tackle the root causes of social and environmental injustice, supported by an office who do stuff like research and training. When I was in the Reading Uni group we:

 * Switched the Uni to a 100% green electricity contract
 * Got the Students' Union to go 100% Fairtrade, pushed it out across campus and contributed to Reading becoming a Fairtrade town
 * Raised £1000s for AIDS/HIV work, and showed students and staff that AIDS is a political issue

Your donation will help P&P activists work on campaigns that we have democratically chosen, rather than being constrained by the whims of trusts and foundations. It will make a big difference!

Find out more about P&P's amazing successes, also their fundraising FAQ.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: People & Planet Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
