We made it through all five stages of the challenge, despite the unhelpful Scottish 'summer!' The Rob Roy certainly proved a challenge - a tough course and heavy rain making for some interesting riding conditions. Thanks again to our support team, Vania and Paula, who did a great job driving all our kit around, providing food and assembling the tent.
Some photos from the day are now posted on this website.
Thanks again for all your support

About the challenge
The Roy Roy Challenge covers 55 miles of the Rob Roy Way, through the tough terrain of the Scottish Highlands. On 18th June, I will be taking part in a 16 mile hike (from Drymen, through the Trossachs to Callander), then switching to a bike for the 39 mile cycle to Kenmore.
The event has three medal stages. With the help of our support team, Vania and Paula, our aim is to complete the entire challenge. Although having never done anything like this before, I am not exactly sure what we are about to let ourselves in for! My training is coming along- cycling around Richmond Park in a gale should hopefully be good preparation for what is in store in the Highlands!
Why this?
This is a tough challenge and a unique event, with around 750 people spending a day hiking and cycling along the Rob Roy Way. Most importantly for me, this is an opportunity to raise some money for some extremely worthwhile causes.
By entering the Rob Roy Challenge I have committed to raise £400 for the Martin Currie Foundation, a registered charity (SCO37106), run by the staff of Martin Currie Investment Management. In 2011 the main beneficiaries of the Martin Currie Rob Roy Challenge will be the NSPCC, Sightsavers and Alzheimer Scotland.

I need your help!
Now I need your help in order to raise these funds. I hope you agree that they are extremely worthy causes, and anything you are able to donate would be very much appreciated. Your support would also provide me with a big lift during the final weeks of my training, and on 18th June itself.
NB all donations via this justgiving page will go to the Martin Currie Charitable Foundation. By taking part in the Rob Roy Challenge, I am also raising money for the Neo-natal unit at UCLH. Please see www.justgiving.com/tomdunsteruclh if you would prefer to donate to this cause instead.
Making a donation on JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is automatically reclaimed on every eligible donation taxpayer (if you are a UK taxpayer, please remember to tick the 'gift aid' box). By doing so, your donation will automatically be boosted by 28%.
Thank you for taking the time to look at this page.
