Story
In August, I’m cycling 100 miles around parts of the London 2012 Olympic route from the Olympic Village down to Box Hill in Surrey and back to finish on The Mall. I’m hoping to complete it in about 7 hours.
I’m raising money in aid of the British Heart Foundation. I chose this charity because both of my grandfathers have undergone serious heart surgery which was part funded by the BHF – in 1993, my grandfather had a valve replaced and, in 2012, the other had a quadruple heart bypass. Thanks to the successful surgery, both of them are still with us today and enjoy life as much as they did before they became ill.
I have signed up for some training events before the cycle in August to help meet my £1,000 target, including:
· a 10k run (11th May)
· a triathlon (22nd June)
· a Spinathon day outside Parish Wharf, Portishead on 19th July (All welcome!)
I would be extremely grateful for any sponsorship you could provide! Don't forget to look out for me in my bright red jersey!
