So after completing the 7 marathons in 7 days and 'conquering' the desert, I thought I would try and raise the bar. The good news is there is less sand, the bad news is that this year's little challenge is a touch harder!

At 6.30pm on Friday 26th August 2009, the gun will be fired for the 2009 UTMB (Ultra trail du Mont Blanc). This footrace starts in Chamonix, France and goes through Switzerland and Italy, and covers 166km (103 miles in old money!) with 9400m of ascent....oh, it has to be completed in under 46hrs! The gun fires and the competitor runs, and does not stop until, he / she crosses the line. This is not a staged race like the Sahara and there is no sleeping!

As this is almost definately going to be tougher than previous races, I have completed, I don't think I could take part without at least trying to raise some money. I appreciate that many of you have given generously in the past, but please don't hold back this time.There are two very worthy charities, so please help out.
