My "fairy tale" is my recovery from coronary artery bypass surgery, so when I finally managed to gain a place in the Flora London Marathon 2008 the British Heart Foundation was an obvious choice for my fund raising activities.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Heart Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Thanks to everyone who has supported me , particularily the intrepid ones who stood in the rain to cheer me on and Karen who gave me moral support as we ran the Marathon together.

I managed 3hrs 51mins 10secs which is a post-op best by 15 minutes - so I was really pleased.

The champagne has been won, and handed over, but it is still not too late to make a donation if you would like to.
