Story

Hi Guys, thanks for visiting my sponsorship page!

I recently decided to enter myself for the Great North Run. It's the most popular and famous half marathon in the world, starting at Newcastle and ending in South Shields. Even though i've never done anything like this before, i still aim to run a decent race, and will be training almost every day in the summer holidays.

Here are a few reasons why i'm doing it.

Firstly, Its going to prove a real challenge having never run anything like this before. Its something i have always wanted to do but like most people have never got round to doing!

Secondly, This will be my last year at Durham University after which i may not be living so far north again - Its probably Now or Never

Thirdly, It gives me and franky an excuse to wear our skimpy 118 gear infront of thousands of spectators & the BBC cameras!!

And lastly, but most significantly, the sponsorship money donated by you will go directly to one of the most important charities in the world. The British Red Cross is part of the largest humanitarian network in the world, covering 181 countries, dealing with conflicts and disasters.

Here are a few facts that could help you decide how much to donate

Just £2 pays for a food parcel for someone living with HIV/AIDS in South Africa

Just £5 pays for 100 litres of purified water

£10 pays for a first aid kit for use in an emergency by a Red Cross Volunteer

£100 pays for one tent for a family displaced by conflict or disatser

£200 pays for training and equipping an emergency response volunteer

Just imagine what more money can do...............

Thanks very much for any donation you make!
