Story
I'm raising money for the charity BAPAM which stands for The British Association of Performing Arts Medicine.
BAPAM gives health advice and treatment to all types of musicians, artists and performers, working with everything from tendonitis, carpal tunnel syndrome and voice loss to stage fright, depression and drug addiction.
My own story is that I developed a shoulder injury that temporarily ended my music career and stopped me from being able to play the guitar. It wasn't until I discovered BAPAM a year later that I found specialists capable of helping me recover. Not only this but all the physiotherapy sessions I received were FREE.
One of the pieces of advice I received from my physiotherapist was to stay active and keep in good shape. This is why I've decided to take part in the Great London Swim 2012.
The money raised from this swim is a way for me to say thank you to BAPAM for their treatment and also to help a charity that offers life changing treatment to many people.
