Dear All,
Candy has persuaded me to set up this justgiving site for my Haute Route trip in April. Please don't feel you have to give anything but if you have any spare change, it will go to a wonderful cause.
I am raising money for the Martlets Hospice where my Mum works. The Martlets provides care for seriously ill patients in East Sussex, especially those with cancer and other serious conditions. Their moto is "Life is precious.. right to the end".
The Haute Route trip is 180kms across the alps from Chamonix to Zermatt. It will be 6 days of long climbs on skins or crampons followed by briefer interludes of downhill skiing. We will stay in mountain huts with no running water and shared rooms with 20 other ski tourers who also haven't washed and changed their socks in a week!
I'm very much hoping that whilst gritting my teeth during a 6 hour climb I'll be able to think of those less fortunate than me.
Thankyou for your support
Tom
