Douglas Macmillan Hospice (Dougie Mac) is the only hospice in Staffordshire supporting Children, Young Adults & Adults. Care is given to patients who are living with a life-limiting illness at our two sites and in the community. We also provide support for patients families and their carers.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am trekking to the top of Kilimanjaro in February 2015 in aid of the Douglas Macmillan Hospice.

I am aiming to raise a minimum of £3,600 for the Dougie Mac and will be grateful for any sponsors given and even the fact you have given up your time and read this far :). Although this challenge will be physically and mentally difficult and raising the money will require a lot of time and effort, I believe this challenge is more than do able and is all for a great cause. A few people may ask why I would want to spend 11 days of my life living up a mountain in Africa at high altitudes of up to 5985m where I will be the furthest away from 'Home' I've ever been in my life. I'm just  trying to do what I can for people who are in a less fortunate position than myself and believe the Dougie Mac is well worth all of the effort which will go into this once in a life time experience.

Thanks for reading and I apologise for any incorrect grammar or cheesy lines!
