Following two hugely successful years of fundraising for the Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign and Macmillan Cancer Support, I am now dedicating my year of fundraising to the Princess Alice Hospice. This is in memory of the incredible support and care they showed for Dad in his final few weeks before passing away last April.

The Princess Alice Hospice is based in Esher,Surrey. They provide specialist palliative care services for patients with the aim to control pain and other symptoms whilst supporting their families in accordance with individual needs. Their services are available to patients regardless of age, race or creed. They make no charge for any of their services, but rely on a modest NHS contribution and, most importantly, their own fundraising efforts.

Dad spent his last few weeks cared for by some the PAH’s nurses. He was never in any pain or discomfort and that is something Mum and I will always be grateful to them for. This is a very special charity and I wanted to give you the opportunity to make a donation which really will make a difference to so many people.

So, what will I be doing to earn your sponsorship?

Over the past two years I have run the Flora London Marathon. However, last year I added a Half Ironman in Austria and the New York Marathon to the schedule in order to push myself that bit more. So, this year, the schedule for sponsorship is:

February 8th

            Half Ironman Geelong, Australia

                       (1.9km swim, 90km bike, 21km run)

                                     Result: 4hrs 45min 58sec

April 26

Flora LondonMarathon

(42km run)

June 14

Half Ironman UK

(1.9km swim, 90km bike, 21km run)

July 12

Ironman Switzerland

(3.8km swim, 180km bike, 42km run)

August 8th / 9th or 15 / 16

24hr Cycling Time Trial

Aim: cycle as many miles on a set 20 - 30mile road course as possible in 24hrs.....

There is a magnum of champagne on offer for the person who donates £50 or more and gets closest to the number of miles I complete.

Should you feel this is a sufficient challenge and would be so generous to donate and help me raise money for an amazing charity, that I know makes a difference, it would be really appreciated.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Princess Alice Hospice will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Thank you!

With best wishes
