Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In July 2015 I cut my hair off and donated it to the Little Princess charity. This charity makes wigs for children who suffer from cancer and have lost their hair due to treatment. Many children who lose their hair are self conscious and Little Princess provides patients with wigs to suit them. I have for the past nine months been growing my hair to donate to the charity.
I am also raising money for Alder Hey Children's Charity. Alder Hey is a children's hospital in Liverpool and this year it's moving to a brand new building next door. However funding for the hospital will only be enough to ensure all the basics and minimum equipment is ready. The hospital needs £30 million to finish the job properly and ensure that all the life saving equipment will be there.
Alder Hey is a hospital close to my heart as a few years ago I was a patient there over Xmas. My short stay at Alder Hey showed me how amazing the staff and facilities were at the hospital. It is one of the best Children's hospitals in the country. The hospital building is almost 100 years old, therefore in order to stay in the 21st century a new hospital complex has been built. I want to raise money and help make sure that every child that stays in Alder Hey receives the same care and support that I received. This new complex will be one of the best in Europe. I'm also wanting to do this to say a proper thank you to the staff of the hospital for looking after me.
I would be very grateful for any donations. If you'd rather donate to me in person that is fine.
I would like to thank people for their support so far and thanks to many who have had to endure seeing me with long hair and saying 'you need a haircut!' Not long left :)
Thank you
Tomos
