Story
Thanks for clicking on my page - clearly the relentless self-promotion / social media spamming is working!
After a rush of blood to the head I've decided to run the Great North Run again after doing a reasonable job of it back in 2010.
The challenge this time round is to beat my 2010 time of 1hr 56min 18secs.
A couple of added bonuses to keep things interesting:
1) My employer is matching the final total I raise, so a £5 donation now will actually mean a tenner (plus Gift Aid) going to AgeUK - talk about win-win!
2) Just so you know that I really am training and not sat around with my feet up, if I don't beat my previous time I'll personally add 25% of total donations on the morning of the Great North Run to the pot!
Please dig deep - those of you who know me, or indeed those unfortunate people who work with me and see / have to share the lift with me after my lunchtime training runs will know that this will require a lot of work and commitment as:
a) I have done virtually no distance running since the last Great North Run except the odd 10k
b) I am a couple of years older / creakier than I was when I last did it
I've chosen to raise money for AgeUK I'm sure you'll agree is a great cause so please donate anything you can.
Cheers,
Tom
