Bupa Great North Run 2009 · 20 September 2009 ·

Action for M.E. works to end the ignorance, injustice and neglect people with M.E. experience. Our children's services offer support and information to children and young people with M.E., their families and carers carrying on the vital work of AYME, the Association of Young People with M.E.

Story

Hi everybody

As many of you will be aware, my little sister Jessica has been suffering with severe ME (Myalgic Encephalopathy - for more info see www.ayme.org.uk) and other related illnesses  rendering her bed bound for the past 3 years.

AYME have been incredibly supportive to Jessica throughout her illness and i felt it was about time i did something to support them in their magnificent work. So on a spur of the moment decision i have decided to do the Great North Run this year, any of you who know me will know how much i dislike running, i have decided to do this particular event because Jessica has had to go through something she hates and hurts, so thought it'd be fitting to do the same to myself!

As I am by no means a runner i am purely aiming to complete the course rather than setting target times!!........

I managed to complete the course in a time of 2hrs 41 mins!

So people, please dig deep and give generously for this fantastic charity!

Thankyou so much for all your donations, every penny sponsored makes the experience more worthwhile!
