Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Update: I have completed the Outlaw in 11 hours 47 minutes 49 seconds. I'm very happy with getting under 12 hours. The marathon part was very hard but I really enjoyed it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the 1st July 2012 I will be competing in the Outlaw Ironman Distance Triathlon in Nottingham.

Along with about a thousand other people I will be Swimming 2.4 miles (3.8km) followed by a Bike of 112 miles (180km) and finish off with a Marathon Run of 26.2 miles (42.2km)

The full 140.6 miles must be completed in under 17 hours... I am hoping to complete it in around 12 hours!

Obviously these distances require a lot of training. Which started at the beginning of December, and will peak around 3 weeks before the race, training for around 20 hours!! (as well as working full time).

As this is the first Ironman Distance race I will compete in, I am hoping to raise some sponsorship money for Compton Hospice a very local charity to me.

Compton Hospice has been supporting patients facing a life-limiting illness, and their families, for 30 years.

With a purpose of make a difference to people’s lives when their illness is no longer curable.

Covering a lot of the midlands (including Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall, South Staffordshire and East Shropshire).

So as I will be covering mile after mile of Swimming, Biking and Running to be ready for this race, please donate as much or as little as you can. It all helps greatly!

I am writing a blog of my progress, pain and suffering here so please read if you want a laugh (or need help getting to sleep!)
