We aim to find a cure for GBM brain tumours to stop GBM killing 5,000 adults per year

Story

It started with an Ironman in France, then a year later another in Mallorca. Great... all the nice weather one could wish for and just physical pain and a bit of lung capacity.

So this is the part where we come in! To raise funds Tony and Dan did an Ironman in 2013. Then Tony's brothers felt left out so they suggested they just check Tony and Dan didn't cheat and accompany them again the following year (well compromised at a half Ironman). They all did it and in spectacular fashion.

Next we had Admin's challenge - Kirstin abseilled down Lloyd's Building in September 2014.

Now we are getting the cycling bug and have planned a Cote D'Azure cycle along the iconic routes of the Tour de France in September. So Ian Summers, Max (&a Mrs) Pell, Rob Hughes, Marek Baldy, Paul Buckle and our own Admin, Kirstin are there first to commit to the ride.

But Ironman is the core sport in this journey and the boys plan to regroup in May this year to compete in a half Ironman. Tony, Peter, David and Dan will all make the flight but how many will see the start or indeed the finishline. Each year in the bodies of middle age take more persuasion to play ball and stay on point. Tony always had to lead any competition and thus far two shoulder ops, one hip replacement and now a pretty knackard knee that needs fixing all set the body part bar for the rest "aspire" to.

So against the odds they plan to put themselves through it once more and we  all in the name of raising funds for Headcase.

Colin  died brain tumour, type GBM 4. Prognosis was never good - terminal 14-18 months from diagnosis. There is loads of info and stats on this disease which we can share with you, Colin wanted to raise money for a charity that is looking to find a cure, Headcase. 100% of all money goes to the research programme, and therefore it's a really great cause (http://www.headcase.org.uk/)

We know many of you may have donated last year when the first set of nutty ideas came to press. but we hope you will donate again!

Any help no matter how big or small will be massively appreciated and if anyone has any ideas on how we can spread the word amongst mates and companies to make this a big number we'd really appreciate your input. It is important to remember that this isn't about any of us doing anything heroic, this is all about Colin and raising awareness for Headcase, but as we know, it sometimes needs a slightly crazy event to be the focus for people to dig deep and cough up.

The journey so far can be seen at http://headcase-ironman.me/

So that's about it for now. Keep an eye on the blog and thanks for taking the time to visit this page and supporting the cause.

Cheers
