The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

Hello, I'm trying to raise money again for Macmillan Cancer Relief by walking to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. I'm not sure whether this time I've bitten off more than I can chew as the summit is just under 6000 metres high.

This will be a 10 day challenge climbing from 1,800 metres to the summit at 5,895 metres, through rainforest, high plateau and glaciers. So I guess I'll just have to try and get as fit as possible over the next few months, and find a few mountains to practice on, difficult in Oxfordshire!

Macmillan is a charity very close to my heart, as they were a huge source of support for my father (and mother) when he was dying of cancer last summer.

I have paid for the costs of the trip myself and, with your help, would love to beat the £4,000 I raised last time, for the Machu Picchu trek.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Macmillan Cancer Support will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
