Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Morecambe Bay Hospitals Charity gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
On Saturday March 28th at 1.15am, Nat woke in a pool of blood in a hotel in Windermere. By 3.46 am she had miraculously gven birth to Poppy Greta Horne in Lancaster some forty minutes away, nearly two months early and weighing just 3 pounds 12. Within a month, both had recovered from very critical to ready for home. We owe much of this miracle to the staff at the Royal Infirmary in Lancaster, especially of course the amazing team in the SCBU, whom we can never forget.
And I remembered them every step on Sunday 20th at my 6th Great North Run. I am more than happy with our first thousand; Chris Ryan has promised a grand, and Alan Shearer has said he will donate too. My time was 2:37:22 and for a training that since May consisted of two eight mile runs, I couldn't be more delighted, and more honoured to have done this for these amazing people in Lancaster.
My plan remains to do all the Great Runs from Edinburgh to Addis to Melbourne. I will do this in the next three years, I hope, depending on book and radio commitments. That is my goal.
For the moment, this page remains open and sincere thanks to you if you gave. My entire list of gratitude is on my horneymedia website.
For the time being, thank you and lots of love from the five of us.
