Action Heart provides a cardiovascular rehabilitation service that helps people who suffer from a heart or vascular related condition. Coronary Heart Disease is now seen as one of the UK's biggest killer and Action Heart is dedicated to the primary and secondary prevention of this condition.

Story

Top o' the mornin to ya! from 'TonytheLoopyLeprechaun'.

Why the LoppyLeprechaun you may ask? Well being a little loppy might have something to do with it, as I'm sure some of my family, friends and colleagues would go along with. But also in memory of my mum and dad who came from the Emerald Isle.

The 'LoopyLeprechaun' will be running the London Marathon on the 26th April, race number 52881, raising money for Action Heart, based at Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley, West Midlands. A hands on charity for people in the Mids area. I was really impressed by Action Heart's rehab programme when a few years back, travelling home on the coach after running the 'London', we were told a story about a guy who had been given the last rites not once but twice, and he'd just completed his first marathon, how amazing is that? The whole coach was in bits hearing about this guy's courage and determination, but without Action Heart the guy knew he would never have got round. That's what this charity can do for people with heart problems.

I'd like to thank you for visting my fundraising page and hope you will pledge your support for the 'LoopyLeprechaun' and Action Heart on 26th April. Tune in to BBC1 and hopefully you might see me, I'll be waving to you all. Thank You, kindest regards 'Slainte (cheers)' and Top o' the mornin!

Tony The Loopy Leprechaun!

Hi Folks, Easter Sunday and just finished my last big run, 20 miles, but was struggling towards the end, this is my 14th marathon and yeh you may think I should be confident which i normally I am, but this year I've lost about a third of the schedule due to illness and injury and wow do I feel the difference. I've realised how important it is to follow your schedule as much as possible, but don't worry we will get round! Even if I do start to struggle the London crowd are amazing and I know they'll get me round. Talk to you before I head off for London.
