Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My Grandson Oliver was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in November 2009 aged 2 and he is now totally dependent on regular blood monitoring and insulin injections which keep him alive. The research which I am raising funds for aims to develop an Artificial Pancreas which will largely automate these processes and be available for children to use in their everyday lives. When this groundbreaking work is completed it will mean that diabetic children will be able enjoy a diet free from the rigorous routine involved at present and have much greater freedom with their lifestyle.

For my part I had a schedule of four challenges that i  completed over the summer.( A 10K,Climbing in Scotland,2Triathlons,and a series of one mile swims) This has grabbed your attention and encouraged you, your family and friends to back me with some generous sponsorship to help the fantastic work of the JDRF.To date ,thanks to very generous support from many people the total raised from all sources is now close to £5.8k and closing on the target of £6k-which i am still hoping to hit.
