Story

Hey guys,

Thank you loads for actually clicking on this link =] really means a lot.

Basically, years ago I said I would go quiet for a day, and no one believed me, and they were right, it was pretty impossible for me to do it. I didnt get very far =]=] Maybe like an hour?

But now I am determined to actually do it right, I'm having a day of silence, but I am allowed to laugh, coz thats technically not talking, so shhhh =] technicalities can go out the window on that score. The day you get rid of a headache is February 27th, so thats a friday, and what with 9am lectures, and it being a friday, will be an extremely long day, coz I'm doing it from when I wake up til I go to sleep.

Also, if I do speak at all, even one word I will give £1 per word on the day =] just to be charitable, so I could end up doing a lot of damage to my bank account!

But to the serious bit.

The charity I chose for this is the Batten Disease Family Association, which is a charity pretty close to my heart. The disease is a fairly rare one, and so as such lots of people haven't heard of it, which sucks big style because it is a fatal disease. Those diagnosed in adulthood (minority of those who have it) have shortened life expectancy, and infants who are diagnosed as young at 6 months can have death occur in mid-childhood. A disease like this really affects the family and friends around them, and the BDFA's aim is to both help the affected family, and to help with research into Batten's disease. They have many ways of doing this, which will be seen if you look at the BDFA's website, as linked below:

http://www.bdfa-uk.org.uk/index.html

this will provide you with links about the disease itself, the help it sends to those families, and shows how they have benefitted.

If you do decide to donate (even if its just a couple of spare pounds) it would be very appreciated by myself, to all of those affected by the disease and would help to provide hope for a definite cure. It all counts!

If you got to this point thank you so so much for reading it all.

Much love,

Tor
