Thank you for visiting the Torvill and Dean's Dancing On Ice JustGiving page in support of Demelza House Children's Hospice.
Demelza House is a charity supported by Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Dancing On Ice - The Tour and Cousins Entertainment. Demelza is a children's residential hospice in Kent, East Sussex and South London providing a wide range of services to life-limited children:
- Short residential breaks and day care at Demelza House
- Hospice at Home Care at Demelza-James
- Their Child project in South London aims to build a new six-bedded hospice in Eltham
In 2008, fans of Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean and of the Dancing on Ice television series and tour adopted Demelza House as their official charity as a way of saying thank you for the pleasure and entertainment they have given to their many fans over the years.
During the run of the 2008 Dancing On Ice Tour we managed to raise over £3,400 in support of Demelza House through donations and the auction of items kindly donated by those involved in the show. We would like to continue our fundraising efforts in aid of this deserving cause during this coming year. Anything you can spare, no matter how little, will make a difference to Demelza.
- Just £1 could pay for a child's oxygen mask
- A little more than £5 could pay for a 10 minute telephone conversation at 3am with a parent who 'just wants to talk'
- £25 could pay for a music therapy session for one child or £100 for an evening's respite care
- £879 could pay for a child's respite care in the hospice for one day and it costs £1,000 to provide 70 hours of Hospice at Home care.
- £3,000 could pay for children to receive a year of play therapy from a children's nurse throughout school term giving Mum and Dad a much needed break.
Thank you for helping support Demelza in the name of Torvill and Dean's Dancing on Ice - The Bolero 25th Anniversary Tour
