Story
This year the Tour de France started in London. The first main stage for the professionals was a long slog from central London down to Canterbury - a daunting 128 miles. To celebrate this fact British Cycling gave 5,000 plucky amateurs the opportunity to race the same route, marshals and all, the week before. And yes - I was one of them, cycling further than I've ever cycled before, a fantastic journey through the Garden of England (e.g. Dartford).
I did this for Leonard Cheshire, the UK's leading charity for people with disabilities. I'm still hoping that with your help I will be able to raise £1,000. Anything you can give means something to the people it helps, be they residents in Cheshire Homes, recipients of care at their own homes, or carers in need of a break.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Leonard Cheshire will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thanks for visiting my page, and hopefully for your support.
