From the 12th to the 23rd July 2009 DS Garry Helsby and DC Darrell Burns intend to cycle the route of the Tour of Britain 2008 to raise money for Cancer Research UK, Child Victims of Crime and the police convalescent home, Flint House. We are both officers in Staffordshire Police based at Cannock andStafford and have completed other cycling events in the past including the 3 Capitals Challenge when we cycled from Edinburgh to Cardiff then on to London, a distance of c600 miles in 7 days,raising over £6000. Our team is made up of the following:-

The event will take us 10 days(the professionals do it in 8 days!) and we will cover almost 700 miles through the course of the event, taking us over some of the hardest terrain in Britain.
