Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. Please help me raise much needed funds for Crimestoppers.
The list of ways Crimestoppers improve our lives is lengthy but to mention a few which touch my heart since Crimestoppers inception in 1988- £159 million of drugs seized, working in partnership with Child Exploitation and Online Protection, operations aimed at the sex trafficing industry and the most impressive 440% rise in actionable calls from Southwark since the launch of an anti gun and knife project in the borough.
Most importantly Crimestoppers provide a safe and secure way for scared people to pass on information safely, 24/7, in complete anonymity and without any fear of reprisal.
Crimestoppers help everyone from the worried home owner to the neglected teenager already who has lived through more than I can imagine.
Having given you the important facts. Lets move onto the task inhand:
Well who's going to win, does age and experience have it on youth and vigour -
remembering youth has to actually get out of bed to go training let alone attack their sponsorship mission........But then there is the worry that old bones might creak they aren't as cute and have already completed a marathon ! Let the race begin...bring it on my sponsor pot verses youth the gauntlet is thrown
!------Over to you Aaron
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Crimestoppers gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now! Tracey

19th October 2008 The Oldies are recovering from running Cardiff 1/2 Marathon [aka International Athletes!]...we may need to do a little more training before April 2009!
16th November 2008 Took a tumble
, whilst negotiating a hairpin cycling down box hill....result broken collar bone! The old bones are taking a little time off from training!...try again after xmas?
4th January 2009 Started back training
3 x 30min sessions and 1 x 1hr session YIPEE!!!!
1st February 2009 Target of 2hr run reached
11th February 2009 MOD XC - Absolutely Stunning - ice, mud, water & the oldens brought the Medals Home!!!
(well worth it for the nosh afterwards!!!)
22nd February 2009 I was deserted over 25km away from home with no money or transport and just my running shoes! Like a bad penny I eventually turned up safe
15th March 2009 target - Hastings Half Marathon - quoted as one of Runners Worlds 10 most hilly 1/2 marathons to do! (I only read that after we had booked our place-BUGGER)
16th March 2009 - and yes Hastings has to be the hillyest place on this planet! I question the write up saying it was down hill from mile 5...all I can say is I must have gone the wrong way cause my way was still going up !
22nd March 2009 - to any normal person a day to celebrate Mothers Day! Again deserted with just my running shoes and 'its only 12-13 miles' echoing in my ears. Maths isn't my strong point, but 25km later I think I was spun a yarn!
26th March 2009 - there are days when you live to regret your fool hardiness...this was one of them! 18km run from work
, just in time to join my usual thurs 1hr long spinning class (I was only popping in to say hi!) followed by 1/2hr Abs class...slept well that night before I even got off the sofa!
28th March 2009 - didn't learn my lesson! Thought I would check out last weeks 25km run along the Wey navigation from Godalming to Pyrford...very pretty - fit young rowers, birds and buzzing insects plus a beautiful fat 11 week cute chocolate lab puppy
. Sounds wonderful............downside - my knees hurt!!!!
1st April 2009 - Sore knees...no joke
- having a week off catching up on sleep!! Meanwhile Robert is running well & Aaron is back on the water!!!!!
4th April 2009 - my turn to drop Robert in Godalming for his long run - he turned up with a smile on his face
...yippee his running is back on track. Unfortunately my sore knees have turned into a groin strain
but we are not worrying (too much!).......Only 3 weeks to go better to rest, then see how things are this weekend!!!
Easter Monday - Kill or cure! 20 mile run to see if the old bones would hold up. Robert smiled and was still bouncing at the end, whilst I relied heavily on Jelly Babies, moaning all the way!........now have 2 weeks to heal my rather large blisters!!!
- I think its going to take a lot of spectator cheering to grit my teeth on the final 6 miles!!!
20th April 2009 - My last run before the big day. A pretty hour long run along the Basingstoke canal passing....cute day old Moorhen chicks, Heron, Mandarin duck and sunshine!
Unfortunately still got the blisters, so off to stock up on blister plasters for the weekend! And Robert is gritting his teeth nursing is knee and calf (bit of a wreak really then!) - the odds are that the bugger will still have energy to run at the end and I'll be walking like an very old lady!
27th April 2009 - All of us walking a little stiffly (but much better for the very welcome Crimestopper massage yesterday). I have the largest family of blisters which have taken residence on my feet, Robert has a dodgy knee and is going to loose his toenail and the speedy youth is walking like John Wayne. It was worth it I'm looking forward to the rematch!
