WE ARE RAISING FUNDS IN MEMORY OF OUR BABY DAUGHTER
ELLE MCEWAN
Our wee Elle was born prematurely at 27wks weighing a tiny 2lbs 6oz and sadly was only with us for 11 days. To watch what seemed to us to to be a perfectly formed little baby die in our arms, was without doubt the most traumatic experience we have ever had or could ever imagine having. Sadly we are not alone, and many other parents in the UK go through the same heart-breaking experience. We can't bring our wee Elle back but we would like her memory to live on by helping other babies born too soon or sick in a similar situation to hers. No donation is too small every penny counts and goes towards helping Bliss support parents that go through what we did and develope and train staff in helping newborns that need it.
ELLE'S PRECIOUS *STAR* FUND - With special dedication to our wee Elle we hope to help reduce the amount of premature deaths by raising as much money as possible to help those in need, we never expected this to happen to us and wish it wouldn't happen to anyone, so please help as much as you can. Should wee Elle's *Star* Fund reach the amazing sum of £5000, Bliss will name a real *STAR* in Elle's memory. Our wee Elle will be missed more than words can describe but she will never be forgotten!
We Choose BLISS because: Prematurity is far more common than most people realise. One in every nine babies in the UK is born premature or sick. That is over 80,000 babies every year. 17,000 of these babies need intensive care, often for many weeks or even months - yet all too often, the right support just isn't there. As medical treatments continue to improve, this figure is rising all the time. There are chronic shortages of specialist nurses to provide the care they desperately need. The vital care that premature and sick babies receive after birth can have a profound impact on the rest of their lives. And for families struggling to cope with having a baby in special care, this will be one of the most difficult, emotional and stressful times of their lives. Bliss, the special care baby charity, was established nearly 30 years ago and continues to champion the care of the most vulnerable babies and their families. Babies born premature or sick each day, only a tiny amount will receive an appropriate level of care. BLISS believes all babies in intensive care should receive the 1:1 nursing given to children and adults and that receiving this would significantly improve the outcomes for these babies. As the UK's only premature baby charity which aims to improve neonatal care in order to improve survival rates for premature babies they rely on donations and support from generous people like yourselfs so please donate - all amounts greatly received.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT
