Story
Although originally planned for September 2009, due to Tracy's mum having to go into hospital at that time, the walk will now be beginning on May 17th 2010.
Tracy Liddy and Victoria Carpenter propose to walk across the UK from coast to coast along Hadrian's Wall, to raise money for Ovarian Cancer Action (reg. charity no. 1109743). We aim to finish the walk within five days. This will involve walking up to 18 miles a day on varying terrain, a massive personal challenge!
Tracy's mum Bernadette was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in June 2007, with very little hope from doctors at the time that she would survive. Over two years later she is still fighting, after several courses of chemotherapy and surgery.
Ovarian Cancer Action is committed to improving survival rates for women diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer, through Research, Awareness and Giving a voice to survivors by encouraging them to tell their stories and get involved. Ovarian Cancer Action are doing a wonderful and very important job for women like Bernadette and their families. Please visit their website to find out more, or if you would like to get involved yourself.
