As you are visiting this page you obviously know that I have entered the London Marathon to run on behalf of The Daisy Garland.
You may also know that on a drizzly day in April 2006 I completed the London Marathon in 5 hours 45 mins and as I crossed the line I vowed ....... 'never again!'
Well here I am, the temptation of helping to raise funds and awareness for The Daisy Garland has proved too much. I have dusted off my running kit, bought some new trainers and as a result of all those dark/cold/rainy nights, have even joined a gym! I am once again pounding the miles for my wonderful, inspirational god-daughter Daisy.
The Daisy Garland is a charity set up by Daisy's parents, along with some friends, to try and turn this devastating tragedy into something positive. The charity works to provide active support for children with epilepsy and in turn aims to improve the quality of life for children with difficult to control epilepsy. Please see http://www.thedaisygarland.org.uk.
Anyone who knows me well, knows that running or even exercise doesn't come easy to me. I wouldn't do this for anyone but Daisy and all those little ones who suffer like she did.
For those of you shocked that I'd even try something like this again or would just like to see me stumble exhausted over the line.......
...................Please dig deep and sponsor me!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Daisy Garland will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
