The Transplant Active Project is an inclusion project designed to provide activities, support and friendship for children and families affected by transplantation. We offer Family holidays, Outward Bound Weekends, sporting and social events for these families so they can support each other and not feel alone and isolated. Also most importantly, so that the children CAN HAVE FUN away from the clinical environment with friends who understand what has happened to them during their transplant!

To deliver the activities per year, we need to raise over £100,000 and we are asking for your help.

Currently we are raising funds for families to enjoy a break at Centre Parcs, for teenagers and siblings to attend an adventure weekend and also for 28 children and teenagers to recognise their dreams and represent the UK at The World Transplant Games in Australia this summer. We also have a wonderful trip for 10 families to Disneyland Paris in December 2009 and are planning the UK families attendance at the Tackers Transplant Ski Camp in March 2010-so lots to think about and raise lots of funding for these children and their families!

We are very excited about our new campaign - ‘Miles for Smiles’ is an exciting new annual campaign running in conjunction with National Transplant Week (5 July – 12 July 2009), created to raise awareness of the need for organ donation in the and to raise funding for The Transplant Active Project and Transplant Sportduring July and August 2009. 

Why not help us achieve our Million Mile Challenge by getting involved in this special Miles for Smiles campaign during July and August 2009 and hopefully raise £100,000 together! Fundraising has been tough during these difficult econonomic times and we do realise that everyone is feeling the pinch, so please help us to achieve our goal

 .

There are a million different ways in which you can achieve your miles – run, walk, cycle, row, crawl-the list is endless. Why not get together with friends and think of a novel way to complete this challenge-every mile is worth 10p to TSUK so the more miles you can achieve-the more money we can raise! Or if you don’t have time to organise an event, maybe you or your friends and families can purchase miles to help us reach our target of £100,000 this summer.
