Story
<p>Over 18 months ago, I attended in a meeting for <a href="http://www.jostrust.org.uk/" target="_blank">Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust</a> with representatives from <a href="http://www.breastcancercare.org.uk/" target="_blank">Breast Cancer Care</a>, <a href="http://www.ovarian.org.uk" target="_blank">Ovarian Cancer Action</a>, Classic Tours and Action for Charity. We saw beautiful pictures of the Kenyan Rift Valley and heard about a proposed route for the first ever <a href="http://www.actionforcharity.co.uk/eventdetailsnew2.asp/urlsearch/Women-V-Cancer-Cycle-Kenya" target="_blank">Women V Cancer Cycle Kenya Challenge</a>. As I sat in the meeting I thought: "<span style="color: #ec008c;"><em>Wow this challenge looks amazing, trip of a life time but I bet it's going to be extremely painful for the participants, you'll never catch me cycling 400km up and down those hills</em>"</span></p>
<p>Little did I know that as the months moved forward I would be the elected charity rep representing all three charities on Cycle Kenya Group 2 (6-15 November 2011) and cycling along with 100 other women on the trip.</p>
<p><span style="color: #ec008c;">So welcome to my JustGiving page</span> - since I'm going as the charity rep my tour costs are covered so every penny you donate will go direct to the charities. Anything you can give will be much appreciated.</p>
<p>But remember the monies will be split 3 ways so if you give £10 that's £3.33 for each charity!</p>
<p><strong>Key points that may make you want to chip in some sponsorship:</strong></p>
<p><span style="color: #ec008c;">* <span style="color: #000000;">This is a <strong><span style="color: #ec008c;">400 km cycle ride done in 5 days</span></strong> across the Kenyan Rift Valley in <strong><span style="color: #ec008c;">support of Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust, Ovarian Cancer Action and Breast Cancer Care</span></strong>.</span></span></p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ec008c;">* </span></strong>There will be <span style="color: #ec008c;"><strong>100 </strong></span>(possibly crazy) <span style="color: #ec008c;"><strong>lycra clad women cycling</strong></span> on Cycle Kenya 2 - I have a camera and video recorder so I can provide evidence of this.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ec008c;">* </span></strong>We're supporting and visiting a Kenyan Cancer Support Group called <a href="http://farajacancersupport.org/index.php?id=36" target="_blank">Faraja</a>.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ec008c;">* </span></strong>The trip will be at <strong><span style="color: #ec008c;">altitude</span></strong> and hot it's <strong><span style="color: #ec008c;">over 25c</span></strong> in November in the Rift Valley.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ec008c;">* </span></strong>There are <strong>lots of snakes in Kenya</strong> and for those who know me well if I see one I will cycling very fast indeed - if this is caught on camera I guarentee it will be good.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ec008c;">* </span></strong>On <span style="color: #ec008c;"><strong>day 3 </strong></span>of the challenge there will be a <span style="color: #ec008c;"><strong>26km hill</strong></span> to climb...do I need to say more?</p>
<p><span style="color: #ec008c;"><strong>* Any money you donate will go directly to supporting women with cancer.</strong></span></p>
<p>So please dig deep and donate anything that you can.</p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">With best wishes and thanks in advance</span></p>
