Thanks for following a link and deciding to sponsor me!  I am running in memory of my wonderful Granda, Frank McCambridge who died 10 years ago this year.

You may or may not know that I work for a fabulous organisation, Help the Aged.  We help the most marginalised, poor, abused, neglected and vulnerable older people in our society and work to prevent disadvantage in the future by challenging policy and undertaking research.  2.2million older people live below the poverty line in the UK alone, and 1 in 5 people aged 80 and above will suffer dementia.

If you sponsor me, you will be supporting a research programme that is very close to my heart, The Disconnected Mind.  It is a wonderful programme which aims to discover why some people develop mental decline in later life, and how we might be able to prevent it and the dementia that so often follows.  My lovely lovely Granda, suffered from dementia and the impact affected our whole family so I really appreciate you sponsoring me.
