We provide life-enhancing support to the UK's fire & rescue community.

Story

On June 23rd 2008, Firefighter Steve Morris  was seriously injured whilst attempting to rescue a family from a house fire in the Great Lever area ofBolton, Greater Manchester.

Steve suffered 50% burns to his body, full thickness in some areas and his hands were very badly burnt. He is still in hospital and at time of writing has already had 15 operations, some involving the removal of his badly damaged fingers and thumbs.

The support that Steve has received from his family, friends and colleagues has been fantastic but Steve will need much more support for many years to come.

The Firefighters Charity will provide that support.

As members of the Borough Management Team in which Steve serves we felt it was time for us to lead from the front and commit to taking part in the Great Wall of China Charity Trek 2009.

Your donation will ultimately help to provide a true hero with the support he so rightly deserves.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Fire Fighters Charity gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Many thanks

Ian Bailey, Brian Wiggans and Steve Parkinson
