12 triathlons in 12 months · 2 March 2006

Each day in the UK five families are told their child has cancer or leukaemia. From that moment on their lives will never be the same again. Most children will survive, some will die, but the scars on every family will remain. CLIC's role is to try and help these children and their families cope and keep life as normal as possible. It offers an all-embracing approach including practical hands-on care, clinical services, financial and emotional support. CLIC has joined together with Sargent Cancer Care for Children to become the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity.

My challenge is to complete 12 Olympic distance triathlons in just 12 months.  Olympic distance triathlons consist of 1500m swim, 40km bike and 10km run.

I have now completed the first three races, all have been fantastic days but lots of hard work!

1st - Royal Windsor, 11th June 2006 which I completed in 3hrs 16secs

2nd - Dorney Lake in Eton, 25 June which I completed in 2hrs 57mins.

I had planned to complete Bath on 16 July but due to injured knees from the previous race at Dorney Lake I had to rest up and recover.

3rd - Salford ITU World Cup, Manchester - 30 July which I completed in 2hrs 57mins 47secs.

4th - Swanage Classic - 13 August which I completed in 3hrs 7mins.

5th - South Coast Triathlon, Seaford - 2 September which I completed in 3hrs 21mins including sorting out my flat tyre!

6th - Bala Standard - 17 September which I completed in 2hrs 48mins with the help of Lemsip Max!

7th - Bath 'Jess' Tri - 29 October which I completed in 3hrs 15mins with some fellow tri-stars!

8th - Bath 'Jess' Tri - which I completed in 3hrs 40mins due to injured knees with some friends 25 November.

9th - Indoor Tri - which I completed in 3hrs 15mins with a friend- injured knees improving on 31 March.
