We have funded over 100 research projects tackling many forms of cancer. In 2012 we opened a dedicated clinical trials centre at Leicester Royal Infirmary to offer patients access to new medicines and therapies. We also fund two nurses who add to the care and support trials patients receive.

Story

We are a group of friends who have decided to set ourselves a challenge by completing an Olympic Triathlon.  We will be undertaking a 40km bike ride, 10km run and 1500m swim.

We are taking on this insane challenge to support two charities, Jemima Invites and The Neuroblastoma Society, which are both very close to many of our hearts.  If you would like to sponsor us we would ask that you consider splitting your donation equally.  You will need to donate on this page and on http://www.justgiving.com/triathlonforneuroblastoma

Jemima Invites was created when Jemima Sellicks was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) in June last year.  Since then Jemima has received horrendous chemotherapy and suffered enormous side effects.  She is an extremely brave little girl who has insisted on leading as normal a life as possible.  In partnership with Hope Against Cancer Jemima Invites have undertaken to fund a research fellowship looking specifically into the diagnosis and treatment of ALL.

Neuroblastoma is a rare solid childhood cancer that affects about 100 children in the UK every year.  For the children and their families it can be devastating. The Neuroblastoma Society was formed by a group of parents whose children were suffering from or had died from neuroblastoma.  The sole purpose of the Society is the support of children suffering from neuroblastoma, and to achieve this it raises funds for medical research into improving both diagnosis and treatment of the disease. The Society also provides the opportunity for parents to give each other mutual help, support and comfort.

Your support for both charities would be greatly appreciated.  So please dig deep and sponsor us online.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. If you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Many thanks for your support.
