My brother Austin was diagnosed with Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy when he was only a few days old. My mom is a carrier of the disease and my two uncles died of this same disease one when he was 13 and the other at 21. My brother is only going to be 6 years old and everytime I look at him it makes me want to cry because I know that there is nothing that i can do to help him. Sometimes when he is playing outside and he's running I think that he can't run at full speed like the kids his age can. He has trouble running and runs out of breath at times and that kills me inside knowing that my mom and step dad don't have the money to take him to a good hospital and take care of the medical bills, so that's why I am trying to raise money for them to give them a sense of relief knowing that they have the money to find a cure for this disease.
