Run to the Beat 2009 · 27 September 2009 ·

AFK is a disability and neurodiversity charity providing support to children and young people across the UK. We assist young people in accessing specialised mobility equipment that isn't available on the NHS and routes to paid employment in an effort to close the disability employment gap.

Story

As you may know, I have decided to run the half marathon 'Run To The Beat' in Greenwich,  in aid of Action for Kids.

Why? Because independance is very important to me....

As a kid, and even more so as a young adult, I have massively valued my freedom and independence and I love to try new things all the time as a result.

I know I completely take it for granted that I can go where I like and do whatever I like.  Through running for 'Action for Kids' I would like to take the opportunity to help others become more independent, and to make their lives a little bit easier.

Running a half marathon is going to be a bit of a personal struggle (I'm definitely not a natural!!), but it'll be nowhere near as much of a struggle as some families face on a daily basis.

I would really appreciate any support you can give me

Thanks in advance!
