Thank YOU for visiting our fundraising page.
On Sat 17h May we are entering the Eton Supersprint Triathlon in memory of Peter Bootherstone who died 3 years ago this July aged 38 years old. We will be doing a 400m open water swim, followed by a 20km bike ride and 5km run. The team includes Annie ( Peter's sister ) and a group of friends, Pilch, Nikki, Sally, Wendy, Emma, Polly, Philly, Annabelle, Vikki, Victoria, Melanie and Lyndy.
Peter was suddenly taken ill and diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. He died 10 weeks later. Unfortunately this cancer tends to be known as the "Silent Killer". Chest pains led to the diagnosis but it was too late as the cancer had metastizised to his liver and it was inoperable. His body shut down over the next 10 weeks. It is chilling how the human body can mask something so sinister until it it too late.
Peter was extremely sporty and talented at most sports he put his hand (or feet to! ) He would be very amused to think of his little sister ( not so talented but very keen ) packing three sports into one afternoon! Who would have thought the above was to happen 7 months after this picture was taken - just a normal fun day out cycling in the park downtown Toronto. Peter was jogging with the buggy and keeping up with his siter on a bike!!
He is so deeply missed by all who knew him and particularly his wife Jo and daughters Anja and Alexa.
We are raising money for Pancreatic Cancer UK.Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of any cancer. Not many people have heard of this type of cancer let alone the charity so it needs our support to raise its profile.Pancreatic Cancer UK is committed to fighting pancreatic cancer through research, awareness, information and support to benefit pancreatic cancer patients and their families.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Pancreatic Cancer UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
