My story

For the third year running I am participating in this 750m open water swim, 20km cycle and 5 km run at Dorney Lake near Windsor.

Last year I didn’t ask for money, I know that times are still tough for many of us - but even harder for many freelance reporters and cameramen/women.

The Rory Peck Trust is a charitable trust raising money to support the families of freelance journalists and camera people that are killed or seriously injured whilst working. This is not a ‘soft charity’ and yes, these people do choose to go into war zones and dangerous places to report to the world on what’s happening there, in the name of freedom of speech and democracy.

Rory Peck himself was a cameraman who was killed in crossfire in 1993 at the age of 37 whilst covering the battle for Ostanhino TV centre in Moscow during the Russian constitutional crisis. He covered the first Gulf war, Bosnia and Afghanistan.

This is the only charity in the world providing invaluable support to freelancers.

Please help me to raise money for this important cause .

I will try to beat my 1hr 22 minute time last year and do it in under 1hr 20 minutes!
