Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Dick and I are running the Beachy head marathon (Eastbourne) which includes the seven sisters hills on the coast.  As some of you are aware, my work colleague David Renaut lost his wife, Viv, to cancer earlier this year.  She spent her last weeks at The Martlets hospice in Hove and they made a huge difference to the whole family at this difficult time.  The hospice movement receives no government funding.

I decided that I wanted to run a marathon to prove I wasn't past it but in training picked up an injury to my heel which just goes to show that I am probably past it!!   Dick also volunteered to take part to keep me company.  Notwithstanding my disrupted training schedule, we are going to attempt the 26 miles as so many people, thinking we were completely bonkers, had offered to sponsor us and I can't let the opportunity to raise money for this worthwhile cause pass by.  I am not planning on a super quick time, we just want to get round so please sponsor us!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Martlets Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
