Story
Hi
I made it! Slightly stiff and very tired 1:46 mins later, but a helluva race nonetheless.
The swim went well, if you like the smell of diesel in your river water, and it was quite something to be swimming past old warehouses in the East London Docklands with 399 other women.
A wrestling match with my wetsuit followed, and then it was a lung popping sprint up bridges and round traffic circles for the 20km cycle. That's when "leadlegs" struck - my pins felt almost completely useless for the first bit of the run. I got into it though, and even had a smile left for the dash to the finish line.
All the hard work was to raise funds for Survival International, a charity that works to protect the rights and lands of tribal peoples from the Kalahari to the Amazon. No aid packages, no pens and pencils - simply legal advice and advocacy. If that is good enough for the Bushmen of the Kalahari, then that's good enough for me.
Please consider making a donation as big as your pocket will allow to help make all my huffing and puffing worthwhile.
Your support is much appreciated
Tanja
Thanks a lot
