Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening genetic condition that slowly destroys the lungs and digestive system. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK-wide charity fighting for a life unlimited, when everyone living with CF can look forward to a long, healthy life. www.cysticfibrosis.org.uk

Story

To support babies like our beautiful niece, Beatrice, we want to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust by attempting to complete the Three Peaks Challenge on our birthday (Sunday 29th July).

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-limiting genetic condition affecting more than 10,000 people across the UK. It affects the lungs and digestive system and can cause chronic infections and reduced lung function. Currently, half of those with CF will not live past age 41.The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is fighting for a brighter future for people with CF and their families by funding cutting-edge research, driving up standards of care and supporting people with the condition and their loved ones every step of the way.

The Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours. We will start at 6am on Sunday 29th July at the base of Ben Nevis (1345m ). Once we have climbed this mountain, our Dad will then help us to drive approximately 5.5 hours to Scafell Pike (978m) in England. We will then drive to our final peak, Snowdon (1085m), in Wales which is approximately 4.5 hours away. We will hopefully finish this climb by 6am on Monday 30th July to complete the challenge. All money raised will go directly to the charity (we are funding the challenge ourselves).

It is quite ambitious for us but the research that the Cystic Fibrosis Trust does is so valuable to so many families, particularly those with positive test results so young.
