Around the world, millions live on less than $2 a day. With lent coming up, I'm setting myself the challenge of living on that same budget. I'm fundraising for the Jeevika Trust, an organisation who seek to tackle the roots of poverty in India by revitalising rural communities.
My challenge is to eat the diet of an Indian at the "near poverty line" of around $2 a day, just under £9 a week, for at least the next 4 weeks. If I can manage the full 40 days I'll be very happy.
