SolarAid aims to relieve poverty through facilitating the provision of solar energy to those in need, and to advance awareness of solar energy, climate change and the protection of the environment and to disseminate the results of research into energy generation, distribution, supply and use.

My story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

At 09:00 on 21st June 2009 I'll commence a 24hr fly tying marathon. Aside from a 30 min break every 4 hours, this will be non-stop session to raise money for SOLARAID.

At the end of the marathon, all flies tied will be auctioned along with a presentation box. The auction will also include flies from some of the world's most innovative and respected tyers including Roy Christie, Niklas Dahlin, Paul Arden and Hans Weilenmann.

Included in the auction will be a 100+ set of flies kindly donated by Nik Wright, MD and founder of Deer Creek Flies (www.deercreek.co.uk)

A range of hooks have also been generously supplied by Phil Holding of Spiders Plus (www.spidersplus.co.uk) and The Fly Tying Boutique to support the tying marathon.
