Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening genetic condition that slowly destroys the lungs and digestive system. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK-wide charity fighting for a life unlimited, when everyone living with CF can look forward to a long, healthy life. www.cysticfibrosis.org.uk

Story

http://www.facebook.com/tyne.live

The DJs of Newcastle are uniting to give you a weekend of music and creativity whilst celebrating and remembering the life of one of our own talented DJs - DJ Outlaw, who has sadly passed away today (9.6.2020).

He was born with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and has been battling it throughout his life. Over the past year, the condition worsened and it has now taken his life. We want to raise awareness and try to raise some money for Cystic Fibrosis Trust as a result of this virtual festival.

It is also CF week from 15th-21st June, and wear yellow day on 19th.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition affecting more than 10,500 people in the UK. You are born with CF and cannot catch it later in life. One in 25 of us carry the faulty gene that causes it, usually without knowing.

The gene affected by CF controls the movement of salt and water in and out of cells. People with CF experience a build-up of thick sticky mucus in the lungs, digestive system and other organs, causing a wide range of challenging symptoms affecting the entire body.

All donations are greatly appreciated and will play their part in defeating this condition for good.

Thank you.
