The Diocese of Bristol supports and oversees Church of England churches in the area from Bristol to Swindon. It provides training for ministers and advice to churches as well as provision of clergy. It also supports outreach to the community and support for church schools in the area.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit the Diocese of Bristol Uganda Lent Appeal page.

This year’s Diocesan Lent Appeal is going to provide scholarships to train Ugandan clergy at the Uganda Christian University.  UGU does a fantastic job of preparing clergy for mission and ministry in our Link province of the Church of Uganda as well as helping them develop throughout their ministry.

It costs just £500 to train a clergy person for a year.  We are aiming to provide at least 3 years training through this appeal.

The Lent Appeal is in memory of the late Bishop Patrick Kyaligonza, a recent graduate of UCU's Theology School for Clergy, who died tragically in a car accident on 11 February.

Please give generously as part of your Lenten discipline. If you are fasting this Lent, perhaps give the money you would have spent on food and drink to the appeal.
