About my charity : Venture Scotland Venture Scotland
Venture Scotland runs social and personal development courses at bothies (mountain huts) in Scotland for 16-30 year olds with limited opportunities. The weekend residential courses are run by trained volunteers who lead conservation work and adventure activities. Longer term programmes, and locally-based follow-on activities are also offered.

Connemara Ultra, County Galway is  a 40 miles race.  It is not the bog standard marathon. It runs through 3 mountain ranges. The race has many phases:  lonely, relaxing, hard, aching, tough, demanding, enjoyable, satisfying,  mind focussing, wall hitting,  thought for food, desire for drink,  body hot, cold, time dissipating,  energy sapping,  sights exhilarating  - mountains, race milestones and then the finish line; The end - a quiet satisfaction through achievement.
