Present and Future - an evening for Gaza - £15 per person* (Please allow us to see your email address when submitting payment for the ticket. We need this to verify your ticket at the entrance.)
As promised, we have set up another event, a fundraising show on Sunday 16th August 2009 at Queens Crescent Community Centre (45 Ashdown Crescent, Kentish Town, London, NW5 4QE).
The show includes some fantastic performances from
Furssan and Muslim Belal, with guest speakers Jalal ibn Sa'eed, Ken
O'Keefe and Lauren Booth from Aloha Palestine, and a video message from Daniel Machover from
Lawyers for Palestinian Human Rights. There will also be an auction with some top items going under the hammer! We're raising money for the
present and future of Gaza, i.e. to feed the needy in Ramadhan through Islamic Help and to
support long-term economic self-determination for the Palestinians with Aloha Palestine.
This event is for everybody, Muslims and non-Muslims, and the ticket price includes food! So please buy your ticket now with a £15 donation on this page, and please leave your email address to verify yourself on the door.
About Ummah United
When George Galloway led a convoy of aid vehicles to Gaza recently, he met a little Palestinian girl, sitting on the ruins on what used to be her home until Israeli jets had reduced it to rubble. The little girl asked him, "Where is the Ummah that they teach us about in schools, why do they not help us? Where is the Ummah?"
Alhumdu-lillah, the Ummah is here, and here to help! Ummah United are a small fundraising team, who have pledged to raise £12,000 for Islamic Help in aid of Gaza. We're nearly there, and need your generosity and support to achieve this awesome target!
Ummah United formed at a charity dinner in Walthamstow, as a direct response to the cry of this little girl George Galloway spoke about, and many men, women and children in a similar situation. Over the past few months we have been raising funds for Gaza through family, friends, work colleagues and with a trek up Mount Snowdon on July 27th.
