Story

In August of 2012 Sarah and I lost our son at 33 weeks, his name is Alfie.

In the process of giving birth I almost lost Sarah to so as you can all imagine this was a very painful and traumatic time for us. We stayed strong and positive because that is all you can really do in a situation like that but of course it took its toll on both of us.

Losing a child is something you never get over, you just learn to deal with it better as time goes by, its every parents worst nightmare and believe me it is a nightmare.. In these desperate times of need you rely on family and friends and the professional help of others including nurses / councilors and bereavement groups..
One such group which helps couples and families like Sarah and I is a charity organisation known as SANDS (stillbirth and neonatal death society)
SANDS are there to offer all kinds of help not just to the parents but also to any members of the family or friends that are affected by the death of their child, they provide an amazing service in a time when it feels like nobody can even begin to understand what you are going through..

Because of the great work they do I have chosen them as my charity I will be running for at the 2016 London Marathon, I'm running for Alfie of course but will be donating every single penny I raise to SANDS to help them to carry on doing the great work they do. As well as raising money I want to raise awareness about stillbirth because it's a taboo subject that people find hard to talk about or even acknowledge.

Through doing this run and with the help of you guys I really think we can all do something positive to help SANDS continue to support grieving families in times of need, I am aiming to raise £5000 but I would really be happy if we could smash that target and give them a bumper cheque for loads more when the time comes in memory of our son Alfie..

Any donation is appreciated, as little or as much as you can afford, you can even make more than 1 if you are feeling generous at a later date..

You can also text a donation by texting 70070 then writing RCFF80 plus your chosen amount between £1-£10.

I'm gonna be on everyone's case over the coming months and I'm gonna be doing as much as I can to raise the money so please anytime you see anything related to this can you all share it on your social medias and help me to spread the word as far and wide as I possibly can.. Together we can flipping smash this I know we can...

See you all at the finishing line for a double Brandy and Coke..!!

Thank you everyone, Dugs x
