FIVE MEN. ONE AMBULANCE. 10,000 MILES. 16 COUNTRIES. THE BIGGEST ADVENTURE OF OUR LIVES..

Ashley Dale, Alex Garrow, Luke Gowers, Chris Pearce and Max Stocker, together we are part of Under The Fog.

We are five adventurists entered to participate in the 2011 Mongol Rally. The Mongol Rally is essentially a charity rally starting in Goodwood on July 23rd and finishing approximately five weeks later in Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia), this will involve us driving through 15 countries and covering around 10,000 miles in the process.

"The world is just a little bit too small. Gone are the days where the edge of the map called you forth to discover what lay beyond - satellite maps and GPS have it laid out before you leave the armchair. What if you want things to go wrong? What if you want a bit of unknown in your life? What if the words "adventure travel" conjure images of old ladies on a guided tour to Everest base camp with all the real adventure neatly removed? What we need is the Mongol Rally."

We have bought a Renault Master LH35 for the event. We wanted to take a vehicle that would leave a longer lasting value to Mongolia, an Ex-Service Ambulance can be used to provide crucial medical assistance in the local community. The level of primary care is extremely basic in Mongolia, Ambulances are few and extremely far between and in most cases are old Russian military vehicles ill equipped for saving lives.

The purpose of this event is not just to donate our vehicle and equipment for long-term use in the country but also to raise money for the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation. We aim to raise in excess of £2000 to help change the lives of children in Mongolia who have often been given a pretty rough hand in life. All the money we raise will be going towards projects in Ulaanbaatar, this gives the children a new chance in life with a safe place to live, education, and all the support of a family in the Blue Skis Gerr Village.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. We are absolutely stoked to be signed up for the trip and can't wait to be on the ever so long road to Mongolia. So please dig deep and help support a worthy cause.

Thank you,

Under The Fog
